Organization For Attorneys: Crosswords Are For Lawyers Two
Crossword puzzles are a fun way to exercise the brain power. They’re a great way to keep you mentally occupied in a crowded room filled with people your age. But why should you join an organization for attorneys? There are three main reasons:
o Joining an organization for attorneys will give you access to current legal news and trends.
When I was in high school, I was a member of the debate club. We debated all semester about whether or not the Vietnam War was really over. The debate club kept us well-informed about current events in the world. And the other club, the debating club didn’t have any Internet access so we relied on our own instincts and common sense to make decisions.
o Many attorneys help litigants that have poor cases.
It’s usually the case that the client can’t afford a good attorney. Some of the attorneys may be able to take on the case, but the funding may be an issue. Therefore, they have access to research cases which may be better suited for their client.
o Litigation funding is easier to obtain through an organization for attorneys than through a conventional lender.
Most conventional lenders are concerned about your credit score. This means they’ll want to see proof that you have a steady income. They may not want to lend money if you have bankruptcies and foreclosures on your recent financial records. A lawyer, however, has access to many different sources of litigation funding including private investors, venture capitalists, and wealthy friends and family members.
o Another advantage to being a member of an organization for attorneys is the crossword puzzle itself.
While a crossword may be a simple word game, many attorneys find them very enjoyable. For example, I used to play a lot of crosswords when I worked in a high-security prison. The levels of security were so high it was a fun game to play. In addition, each letter of the word was different and it took a professional to uncover those words. Therefore, it was a great game to play while working long days in prison.
o Lawyers can enjoy the benefits of crosswords, even when working on a legal case.
Most attorneys love finding new and creative ways to present the law in a way that makes the case easier to explain to juries or judges. Therefore, they’re always looking for new crosswords to solve cases.
o There are several different categories for crosswords.
One category is word games, such as hangman, word search puzzles, and crossword puzzles that feature an array of words rather than just one. Another category is legal cases, such as divorce, criminal trials, and the like. Legal crosswords can be on trial, issues, or even briefs. When you are searching for legal information to present to a jury or judge, you will find crosswords that cover the entire subject.
o Many attorneys enjoy playing crosswords as a form of relaxation.
Many attorneys work long hours and find comfort in solving a puzzle or a word search. A crossword gives you the opportunity to relax and unwind after a long day at the law office. You may even find that you develop a new addiction, as many people do, crosswords become addictive and you’ll likely have a whole box of them in your filing cabinets.
o Crosswords are very popular among writers.
Many writers love to crossword as a way to relax during long boring days at the law library. Word searches to help them organize their ideas, and they may even find that their creativity comes through in the writing. If you’ve ever been stuck for words in a legal case, you probably know how difficult it can be to think of a way to explain your case to a court-room full of people. Sometimes you just have to resort to crosswords.
o You can also use crosswords to learn about world events.
For example, did you know that the September 11th Terrorist attacks happened in New York? Or that Congress passed a bill to allow parents to spy on their children’s cell phones? You can research the information you need in crosswords; all you need to do is enter “September 11th” or “cell phone spying” into the search box. You’ll find many other entries related to the events of that day.
The bottom line is that crosswords can help you with legal research.
They’re not just for attorneys. Whether you’re a lawyer or not, if you’re looking for facts about a specific case, you’ll find them in crosswords. They’re fun and addictive (and even if you don’t want to do them, you can do them on your own!) and can really help you organize your thoughts about a legal matter.
